Build A Terrain Park Rail

Now that ski and snow season has slowed down and we are into the warmer summer months, we have the time to fully prepare for the upcoming winter season. Why not start designing your own terrain park? If you’ve got a hill, some wood, and some tools, you have the basics to create your own wintertime wonderland terrain park. We found some easy directions on building a rail. Here’s exactly what you need to get started

You’ll be able to find everything right at your local hardware store, or maybe even laying around the garage.

  • 8’ 2×6 Pressure Treated Board
  • 8’ Aluminum Fence Rail
  • Metal Framing Brackets (stair angle)
  • 8’ 4×4 Pressure Treated Post
  • ½” Carriage Bolts
  • 3/8” Lag Screws
  • Washers
  • Nuts
  • 1” Wood Screws

You’ll also need these tools:

  • A Drill
  • Hand Saw
  • Metal File

These guys do a great job showing every step along the way. Check out this video tutorial on exactly how to get started.

Now that you’ve got your rail, all you need is some snow and a Lite Trax vehicle to shape it up. What other terrain park essentials have you built? Share some of your ideas with us; we’d love to see what you are doing!
